Putting a redeveloped landmark back on the map
Television Centre, housed in the former BBC headquarters, has transformed the landmark into a cultural hub featuring apartments, offices, shops, and restaurants, as well as state-of-the-art BBC studios producing live shows.
Like a magnet, Television Centre attracts people and attention from across the city. We were inspired by this magnetism, as well as the site’s iconic architecture, but we also wanted to convey moving in a new direction.
The center of the logo is a perfect circle, representing the circular courtyard at the heart of Television Centre. The line stemming from the circle is a device that allows the identity to flex, rotate, and direct attention. We used bold typography, and a minimal color palette of black, white, and green to evoke a classic feel, with a nod to new growth.
